Protecting your freedom and future is our priority, and you can expect to work closely and directly with our attorneys every step of the way.

What is a Misdemeanor?
In the Arizona legal system, crimes are divided into two primary categories: felonies and misdemeanors. A misdemeanor is a crime that is considered less serious than a felony but more severe than a simple petty offense or civil traffic citation.
Misdemeanors are typically handled in Municipal (City) Courts or Justice Courts. While they do not carry the prison sentences associated with felonies (which are served in state prison), misdemeanors are still criminal offenses. A conviction means you will have a criminal record, which can be seen by employers, landlords, and licensing boards. At Cates & Reed, PLLC, we believe every client deserves a robust defense, regardless of the level of the charge.
